Removal

Remove the bolts and the spare wheel and tire.
Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)

Remove the liftgate trim panel.
Refer to: Liftgate Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

Remove the spare wheel mounting bracket nuts.
Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

Remove the bolts and the spare wheel mounting bracket.
Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Removal

NOTICE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.

Remove the timing chain.

Remove the bolts and VCT units.
Discard the bolts.
