Removal

All vehicles

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the wheel and tire.
    Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04A Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).

Vehicles With: FWD

    1. Disconnect the brake tube fitting.
      Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
    1. Remove the clip and detach the brake hose from the bracket.

Vehicles With: AWD

  1. Detach the parking brake cable and the wheel speed sensor wiring from the bracket.
    1. Disconnect the brake tube fitting.
      Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
    1. Remove the clip and detach the brake hose from the bracket.
    1. Remove the bolt and detach the bracket.
      Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

All vehicles

  1. Disconnect the brake hose fitting and remove the brake flexible hose.
    Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)

Installation

  1. NOTICE: Make sure the brake hose is not twisted when installing the brake hose or damage to the brake flexible hose may occur.

    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Bleed the brake system.
    Refer to: Brake System Pressure Bleeding (206-00 Brake System - General Information, General Procedures).

    Removal

    NOTICE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.

    Remove the timing chain.
    Refer to: Timing Chain (303-01C Engine - 2.0L Duratec-HE (129kW/175PS), Removal and Installation).
    Remove the bolts and VCT units.
    Discard the bolts.
