Removal
NOTE:

Remove the RH headlamp.
Refer to: Headlamp Assembly (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).

Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner.
Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner (303-05C Accessory Drive - 2.0L Duratec-HE (129kW/175PS), Removal and Installation).

Drain the cooling system.

NOTE:
Cover the generator with waterproof plastic prior to removing the coolant hoses.
Release the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses.
Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

Remove the bolt, nuts and the crash bracket.
Torque:
1:
177 lb.in (20 Nm)
2:
106 lb.in (12 Nm)

Remove the bolts and the thermostat housing. Inspect the O-ring seal and replace if necessary.
Torque:
89 lb.in (10 Nm)
Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
