Ford Ecosport: Fuel Charging and Controls - 2.0L Duratec-HE (129kW/175PS) / Removal and Installation - Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM)

Removal

NOTE: The fuel pump driver module is located under the left front carpet, attached to the rear of the front floor cross support in front of the left front seat.

Vehicles with a carpet access flap

1. Move the left front seat to the full rear position. Lift the carpet access flap up and out of the way.
   

Vehicles without a carpet access flap

1. Remove the left front seat.
   Refer to: Front Seat (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Remove the lower left b-pillar trim panel.
   Refer to: B-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
   

1. 1. Release the retainers and remove the LH lower cowl trim panel.
      
   2. Position the carpet up and out of the way.
      

All vehicles

1. Disconnect the fuel pump driver module electrical connector.
   

1. Release the fuel pump driver module retaining tab and then remove the fuel pump driver module from the bracket.
   

1. If needed, remove the fuel pump driver module bracket nuts, then remove the bracket.
   

Installation

All vehicles

1. If removed, install the fuel pump driver module bracket, then install and tighten the nuts.
   Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

1. Install the fuel pump driver module to the bracket until it clicks into position.
   

1. Connect the fuel pump driver module electrical connector.
   

Vehicles without a carpet access flap

1. 1. Position the carpet back.
      
   2. Install the LH lower cowl trim panel.
      

1. Install the lower left b-pillar trim panel.
   Refer to: B-Pillar Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Install the left front seat.
   Refer to: Front Seat (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).
   

Vehicles with a carpet access flap

1. Position the carpet access flap back down, then move the left front seat to it's original position.
