Ford Ecosport: Engine Cooling - 2.0L Duratec-HE (129kW/175PS) / Removal and Installation - Block Heater

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1.   WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this section, refer to Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

   Refer to: Engine Cooling System Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
   

1. Drain the cooling system.
   Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding (303-03A Engine Cooling - 1.0L EcoBoost (92kW/125PS), General Procedures).
   

1. NOTICE: Make sure the block heater wiring is routed and secured away from rotating or hot components.

   Disconnect the electrical connector.
   

1. Remove the block heater.
   Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
   

1. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
