Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the active grill shutter.
Refer to: Active Grille Shutter - 2.0L Duratec-HE (125kW/170PS) – MI4 (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).
Refer to: Active Grille Shutter - 1.0L EcoBoost (92kW/125PS) (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).

1. Release the upper vanes from active grill shutter.
1. Remove the upper vanes.
1. Release the lower vanes from the active grill shutter.
1. Remove the lower vanes.

Remove the active grill shutter vanes lever mounting bolt and the slider.

Remove the active grill shutter vanes lever.

1. Detach the lock.
1. Remove the active grill shutter actuator.

Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Remove the wheel knuckle.
Refer to: Wheel Knuckle - Vehicles With: Rear Drum Brakes (204-02B Rear Suspension - AWD, Removal and Installation).
Remove the rear toe adjustment retainers and remove the wheel knuckle mounting bracket.
Torque:
Stage 1: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
Stage 2: 76 lb.ft (103 Nm)
