Removal
NOTE:

NOTE:
Support the hood with a commercially available hood prop.
Open the Hood.

Remove the front bumper.
Refer to: Front Bumper (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).

Remove the Air cleaner.
Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12C Intake Air Distribution and Filtering -
2.0L Duratec-HE (129kW/175PS), Removal and Installation).

Disconnect the engine air temperature electrical controller sensor connector.
-
Remove the radiator grill opening panel support screw.
-
Detach the knobs and remove the radiator grill opening panel support.
-
-
If equipped.
Disconnect the air bag sensor electrical connector.
-
Remove the bolts and position the hood latch assembly aside.
Torque:
44 lb.in (5 Nm)
-
Detach the retainers and position the electrical wiring harness aside.
-
-
Detach the active grille shutter actuator electrical wiring harness retainers.
-
Disconnect the active grille shutter actuator electrical connector and position the wiring harness aside.
-
-
Remove the push pin type retainers.
-
Remove the bolts and the radiator lower air deflector.
Torque:
42 lb.in (4.8 Nm)

Detach the knobs.
-
Remove the radiator grill opening panel reinforcement support.
-
Position and secure the vehicle/axle stand under the radiator assembly.
Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands

-
Remove the radiator upper mounting brackets and the radiator upper isolators.
-
Release the active grill shutter from radiator mounting rubber groments.
-
Remove the active grill shutter.
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
