Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the liftgate trim panel.
Refer to: Liftgate Trim Panel (501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

- Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the grommet.
- Remove the nuts.
  Torque: 35 lb.in (4 Nm)

- Using a non-marring trim tool, disengage the retainers.
- Remove the liftgate moulding.

Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Remove the timing chain.

Remove the bolts and VCT units.
Discard the bolts.
