Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE:
If installing a new IPC , it is necessary to upload the module
configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the IPC .
This information must be downloaded into the new IPC after installation.

If installing a new IPC , upload the configuration information from the
IPC module into the scan tool by following the scan tool on screen
instructions.

Record the odometer value from the original IPC . If the odometer value cannot be obtained from the IPC
(display failure), perform the diagnostic routine. If the value cannot
be obtained after the diagnostic routine, the customer should supply
the approximate odometer value.

Position the steering column in the full rearward/down position.

Release the clips and remove the IPC bezel.

Remove the screws and the IPC . Disconnect the electrical connector.
Torque:
19 lb.in (2.2 Nm)
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

If a new IPC had been installed, download the IPC configuration
information from the scan tool to the new IPC by following the scan tool
on-screen instructions.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The RCM monitors the passenger front door and driver C-pillar side impact sensor circuits for the following faults:
Open circuit
Short to voltage
Short to ground
