Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the Wheels and Tires.
    Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04A Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the Front Fender Moulding.
    Refer to: Front Fender Moulding (501-08 Exterior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation).

    • Remove the screws and washers.
    • Remove the clips.
    • Remove the rivet push pins.
    • Remove the screws and washers.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    NOTICE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.

    Remove the timing chain.

    Remove the bolts and VCT units.
    Discard the bolts.
