Ford Ecosport: Transfer Case - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission – 6F35 / General Procedures - Transfer Case Fluid Level Check

Materials

1. Follow the health and safety precautions.
   Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
   

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
   Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
   

1. Remove the engine undershield.
   

1. Remove the PTU (Power Transfer Unit) fill plug.
   

1. NOTICE: Incorrect fluid fill can result in transfer case failure.

   NOTE: Do not fill to the level of the fill plug, this will lead to filling excess oil.

   Add the specified amount and type of oil through the filler plug hole until the level reaches the bottom of the filler plug hole X: 0 mm.
   Refer to: Specifications (308-07B Transfer Case - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission – 6F35, Specifications).
   Material: Motorcraft® SAE 75W-85 Premium Synthetic Hypoid Gear Lubricant / XY-75W85-QL (WSS-M2C942-A)

1. Install the PTU fill plug.
   Torque: 44 lb.ft (60 Nm)

1. Install the engine undershield.
   
   1. Torque: 18 lb.in (2 Nm)
   2. Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)
